In my second but very brief trip to Bacolod City in February this year, I was unable to squeeze in my tight schedule a trip to Kabankalan City.

Mag-aso Falls Since I have started my Chasing Philippine Waterfalls Project, I have included in my to-do list Mag-aso Falls, Kabankalan City‘s main tourist attraction.

Mag-aso FallsFound in its hinterlands and 30 minutes from the city proper, the main drop of Mag-aso Falls stands at 75 feet. There are other drops of Mag-aso but the most beautiful are the three that stand side by side.

Mag-aso FallsMag-aso Falls in in the enclave of the resort of the same name.

How To Get There:

  • From Manila (air): take any Bacolod (Silay)-bound flight of PAL, Cebu Pacific, and Air Asia.
  • From Bacolod: take a Ceres bus going to Dumaguete. Ceres will have a stop over in Kabanakalan City. On the way to Dumaguete, drop at Brgy. Oringao. Travel time is a little more than two hours.
  • From Oringao: take a habal habal going to Mag-aso. Travel time is ten minutes.

Note: This is part of LegendHarry‘s ambitious travel project: Chasing Philippine Waterfalls. Also, this is part of his June 18-23, 2012 Negros Occidental Trip.
