The Patapat Causeway Bridge in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte
One of the most scenic and most photographed destinations in Ilocos Norte is the Patapat Causeway Bridge in the resort town of Pagudpud. It was built on the northern terminus of the Cordillera Mountain Range, facing Pasaleng Bay of the West Philippine Sea.
The 1300-meter Patapat Viaduct provides easier and more convenient road connection between Ilocos Norte and the provinces in Cagayan Valley, being part of the larger and longer Pan-Philippine Highway System (Asian Highway 26, AH26). On a very clear day, the islands of Fuga and Calayan are visible to the naked eye.
