Heritage Town: Ilog, Negros Occidental

In the olden times, communities and settlements were mostly built along rivers banks. Situated along the banks of the island’s longest river, the Hilabangan River, and naturally derived its name from it, Ilog is the first capital of Negros Island.

IlogThis river may now be a shell of its glorious past but there is no doubt that it has catalyzed the island’s economic, political and social life.

IlogAccording to theNational Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), Ilog is now a second class municipality, earning P45M to P55M annually. It belongs to the Sixth Legislative District of Negros Occidental.
