Back in August 2010, I was convinced by a tourism officer of Bislig City to go to San Agustin, Surigao del Sur to explore the Britania Group of Islands and Islets. The tourism officer was Mr. Sulvert Orcullo hails from Barangay Britania who originated from this barangay and knew what he was speaking of.

Hagonoy Island Hagonoy Island Heeding Mr. Orcullo’s advice was one of the best decisions that I have ever made as I found a tropical paradise in that side of the Pacific Ocean.

One of the islands in Britania Group is Hagonoy Island. Small in size but overwhelming in beauty, Hagonoy Island is surrounded by powdery white sand beach and sparkling turquoise waters and dotted with several coconut trees that provide shed against searing heat and at times punishing winds of the Pacific.Hagonoy Island

Hagonoy IslandDuring the island hopping activity in my recent Surigao del Sur Group Tour, we spent the longest here as we basked ourselves in the natural beauty of Hagonoy Island. Well, I can bum around and relax all day here and I won’t mind a bit.
