The fifth and final waterfall destination during our week-long Romblon Backpacking Trip was Garing Falls.
From the blog post of Ferdz Decena‘s Iron Wulf, Garing Falls looked so beautiful and therefore enticing and worthy of a visit.
So after our trip to Mainit Falls, I told Sherwin, our motorcycle driver, to bring us to Garing Falls. By happenstance, the barangay captain of Progreso Weste was waiting for their visitors at the crossing. In the meanwhile, she brought us to the caretaker of Garing who would then assist us in going to the falls.
Garing Falls has two main layers that are distinct and unique from each other. The lower tier has a huge pool so good for diving and swimming. Later in te day, there were several local boys who mimicked Tarzan, hanging on a rope before plunging into the pool. Haha!
Like Cataja Falls in Sibuyan Island, Garing Falls has less-than-spectacular flow of water. It must be that it was still dry season. Otherwise, the falls would have been more majestic and enchanting. Of course, it was still an enjoyable and satisfying experience.
Note: This is part of LegendHarry‘s ambitious travel project: Chasing Philippine Waterfalls and the seven-day Romblon Backpacking Trip.
