The penultimate day of our weeklong Romblon Backpacking Trip had to be capped off with yet more beautiful experiences.

So, we limited our destinations to only two waterfalls in Odiongan.

After eating our breakfast at the town plaza, I talked to a motorcycle driver if he can take us to Mainit Falls and Garing Falls. He was forthright that he had never been to Mainit and Garing. I assured that it was okay; we can ask for directions. His vehicle was just right for me and Acee.

As expected, we got lost along the way and we had to ask for directions. After a few stops, we asked someone to help us go to Mainit Falls.

From Gabawan River, we walked for about 15 minutes until we reached the main waterfalls of Mainit. An established trail leads to Mainit with gradual ascend along the way. It was an easy trek.

The main falls is about six meters in height with a hugepoolto swim around. Mainit was a picture of beauty!

Just before the main waterfall, there are four smaller falls. And above it are many others which we did not get the chance to explore.

The main falls was more than enough for us on that day.

There was an initiative to improve the trail. However, the property owner did not allow the development in the area. Nevertheless, going there should not deter any tourists as the hike is light and easy on any given day.

Note: This is part of LegendHarry‘s ambitious travel project: Chasing Philippine Waterfalls and the seven-day Romblon Backpacking Trip.
