Google searches revealed a majestic 60-foot Can-umantad Falls in full glory. So, I was expecting a less than stellar display of her beauty.

By driving under the searing sun on the eastern side of Bohol Island, I was looking forward for a therapeutic shower and refreshing dip in Can-umantad.

As Tata and I slowly descended from the parking area down to the falls, it slowly dawned on me that I was in a huge disappointment. What I saw that Monday afternoon paled in comparison to Google and Facebook images. Like the harsh reality that I experienced that day in Dam-agan Falls, the waters of Can-umantad are also used in irrigating the upland farms in Candijay.

I really wanted to witness a grander and more majestic Can-umantad Falls. But what I saw was par for the course. It makes the Chasing Philippine Waterfalls such a challenging project.
